Land Donation
how you can help Habitat with a land donation
About Land donation:
Overall, finding affordable land to build on is one of our greatest challenges. By making a charitable donation of land, you will help us by eliminating what is often one of the most expensive aspects of building a home. Also, this will allow us to build more homes for deserving families. Donated real estate may also be deducted as a charitable contribution. Prior to, please consult with your tax accountant to determine what tax benefits may be available. Another option is to also sell a building site to Habitat at a reduced price. A charitable contribution deduction may also be available in this situation, so please check with your accountant.
Land that is outside of Washington or Iron County can still be donated to support the critical work of eliminating substandard and poverty housing. We can use the funds from the sale of these properties to fund home building, homeowner education, and program operations.
Please call our offices at 435-674-7669 to explore these options.
We encourage the donation of any type of real estate including:
Vacant lots as well as land
Homes in need of repair
Condemned sites that must be demolished
Commercial properties
Retail properties
Warehousing properties
